The CM team provided supervision and inspection services for construction of Express Cable Installation along 41.8 miles of the Harlem Line. The construction supervision services for the project were required for a period of twenty-four (28) months. The southerly work limits for the project commence in the vicinity of Interlocking CP-112 (Harmon) and extend north to Interlocking CP-154 (Southeast). This project was part of a multi-phase replacement of the signal, signal power, and communications infrastructure for Metro-North’s Harlem Line. The Contract Documents included construction of the new signal and communications express and local cable system to serve current and future communications and signal equipment locations.

Completed Tasks

- Oversight for the procurement, engineering, installation, and testing of direct burial innerduct, fiber optic and copper cable, and related hardware, such as:
• Installation of aerial cables and support poles
• Power manholes, communications pull boxes, and communication hand holes
• Communications cases
• Cable trough and conduits through interlockings and passenger stations
• Conduits crossing bridges
• Installation of duct banks and conduits under roads and railroad tracks

- Performed / supervised material tests – cables, concrete, etc.
- Coordination with stakeholders
- Assessment of contractor personnel, safety, certifications, etc.
- Daily inspection reports
- Ensured safe working environment
