Old Gate Lane Realignment and Capacity Improvements
Old Gate Lane is a two-lane bi-directional roadway that runs under a Metro-North Railroad bridge, which had been undergoing rehabilitation. Garg was responsible for the Final Design of this roadway realignment. Included in this work was the adjustment of the horizontal and vertical alignment to obtain proper sight distances and vertical clearance from the railroad structure. In addition, a proper drainage system was required as well as water and sewer relocation.

Completed Tasks

- Horizontal and vertical alignment review.
- Drainage design, including water quality and quantity control.
- Traffic signal engineering.
- DEP permitting, inland wetlands, flood plain management, tidal wetlands, coastal area management, and ROW acquisition review.
- Utility relocation.
- Safety assessment.
