Project Profile
Garg is performing routine and in-depth inspections of over one hundred and ninety-three (193) state and town bridges as well as over fifty-four (54) cantilever, full span, and structure-mounted overhead sign supports throughout various Connecticut highways.
Major project tasks include:
- Planning, scheduling, and coordination of each bridge and overhead sign inspection with CTDOT, local and national agencies, the state, and local police.
- Coordination with contractors for access and inspection of several ongoing rehabilitation projects at major highway interchanges.
- Providing requisite traffic control and necessary access equipment (man lifts, snoopers, barges with scaffolding, etc.) to safely complete inspections.
- Routine, in-depth, fracture-critical, and semi-final structural inspections.
- Minor maintenance of overhead sign structures (tightening/replacement of nuts and bolts, installing plugs and pipe caps, and adding sealant in joints).
- Preparation of inspection reports and prioritized maintenance recommendations according to State and Federal guidelines.
- Electronic submissions using InspectTech software.
- Internal QA/QC review of all procedures and reports.
- Specialized non-destructive testing, as needed.
- Completion of the NHI Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course by all key Garg inspection personnel.
