Project Profile
This project installed a railroad cab signal system on the Waterbury Branch.
- Management and administration of all MNR Force Account project activities and work order budgets, invoices, and labor charges.
- Project lead supervision of a construction inspection team responsible for the inspection and documentation of Railroad Force Account Labor and 3rd Party Contractor work activities.
- Inspection of MNR Force Account Labor C&S Department work and labor utilized to install signal elements, terminate/test and commission communication, wayside radio equipment/node houses, signal houses, and cases.
- Inspection of MNR Force Account Track Department work and labor utilized to construct/install railroad passing siding tracks in Beacon Falls, Devon, and Waterbury, switch turnouts, insulated joints, derails, and other track elements required to complete the signal project.
- Inspection of MNR Force Account Structure Department work and labor utilized to fabricate/construct/install overhead railroad bridge walkways, stairways, bridge and culvert cable trays, and other structural elements not party to 3rd Party Contract work.
- Oversight of MNR Force Account Flagmen and Power Department protective services provided to 3rd Party Contractor(s).
- Inspection of MNR 3rd Party performing cable plow work to install direct buried signal power and communication cables for the signal system.
- Inspection of MNR 3rd Party Cable Installation Contractor / Cable Plow Contractor responsible for installation and testing of direct-burial inner duct, fiber optic and copper cables and related hardware, signal power associated distribution system, installation of wayside C&S house and case foundation, PTC wayside radio system infrastructure and antennas, and miscellaneous signal power systems and grade crossing drainage upgrades.
