Facility / MEP Design

This contract consists of Construction Phase Services (CPS) for three design projects prepared, in part, by Garg: Franklin Avenue Tunnel Hatchway Improvements, Murray Hill Right-of-way (ROW) Fence Improvements, and Atlantic Avenue Tunnel Hatchway Improvements.

- Review Contractor’s submittals for conformance with the contract documents and maintain a submittal log. Submittals may include project data and material samples and test results.
- Attendance at monthly progress meetings to discuss project issues/ status and provide notes to assist in the preparation of meeting minutes.
- Perform inspections of fabrication facility to review operation and assure Quality Assurance with the requirements of the construction contract.
- Provide support to the construction effort by providing technical expertise as requested by the LIRR, including monthly site visits.
- Review and prepare responses to project related Request for Information (RFIs) including preparation of schematic drawings and prepare and maintain RFI log for each project.
- Review and concur with change orders initiated by the Contractor or the Railroad.
- Support the Railroad and the Contractors in securing permits from the New York City Department of Transportation, and other New York City agencies, MTA New York City Transit, as well as utility companies.
- Evaluate instances of Contractors’ possible non-conformance with the design intent.
- Review and verify the as-built documents prepared by the contractor for each project and update CADD work based on markups provided by the Contractor and CM Inspector.
