Structural & Civil Engineering
This project includes the design and construction of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements at eight (8) stations located in the five (5) boroughs of New York City, NY. These improvements will contribute to full vertical accessibility at the stations through the installation and replacement of elevators and other ADA-compliant upgrades
Garg Consulting Services, Inc. is providing State of Good Repair inspection and structural design services at the following three (3) stations:
- Marcy Avenue: an elevated station in Brooklyn on the Jamaica Line serving the J, M, and Z trains. Replacement of elevators #391 and 392.
- Flushing Avenue: an elevated station in Brooklyn on the Jamaica Line serving the J & M trains. Replacement of elevators #393, 394, and 395.
- Westchester Square: a station in the Bronx on the Pelham Line serving train 6. Will design one (1) street to mezzanine elevator, two (2) mezzanine to platform elevators, and replacement of four (4) platform stairs.
Additionally, Garg is providing traffic signal engineering services for various locations at Woodhaven Boulevard, Queensboro Plaza, and Westchester Square that included, but were not limited to:
- Field visits and site verification.
- Updating existing traffic signal plans provided by NYCDOT in AutoCAD.
- Updating pedestrian signal hardware, including pedestal, conduit, APS, etc.
- Mounting Details for attaching signal heads to the underside of mezzanine areas.
- Submittal of proposed traffic signal drawings to NYCDOT.
